When the house was built the Paull family who didn't need the two back bedrooms had the investor who had the blueprints drawn up remove them from the finished house and a  flat deck put over the back rooms of the house. The kitchen chimney was supported with two metal rods since it didn't run through those missing rooms. The picture below show how the house would have looked when built.
