2009 Christmas

The front of the house is kept simple with some garland and a pair of picket fence snowmen I made several years ago. I thought this is something that could have been done when the house was built.

In the front parlor Christmas tree is kept simple with little birds and apples the only decorations. You can see the little birds and apples in the two pictures below. Again no lights on the tree since they would not have been used back when the house was built

The antique restored light fixture in the parlor is decorated with garland, flowers and beads. The phonograph below has old 78 Christmas records I play and the pictures are decorated with garland as you see below in the old painting of horses. This winter I hope to repaper the front rooms and put up burgundy curtains . So maybe next year you will see this change.

The stair railing and landing is done up in garland and a swag. The second picture down shows how the parlor looks coming down the stairs.

The antique drop leaf table in the corner of the living room I have a ceramic village church and sleigh with two statues my Mother had and the bible and a Christmas book. The TV received is hid some with garland and nutcracker statues in the picture below.

The huge doorway between the dining and living room is decorated with a garland and in the picture below you see the old light fixture in the dining room with garland and flowers. The center piece on the dining table is a large wreath with a antique GWTW lamp.

The buffet is decorated with a ceramic village, bottle brush trees and a cast iron train. You can see it lit up in the picture below.

This was one of my Mom's favorite old print of the little girl on Christmas morning. The family pictures below are decorated with garland and flower in the picture below. The second picture down is of the poinsettia on the antique plant stand and the old style Santa Claus on the shelf.

The light fixture in the kitchen is decorated with fruit that ties it into the kitchen theme. The last picture is a old antique bubble glass frame I bought with a little child, not a family but sure a cute picture. I used poinsettia around the frame. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
