FCDA Army style Stretcher
This is a old army style stretcher used by the FCDA which was the
Federal Civil Defense Administration formed in the 1950s during the
cold war. Most likely this was stored at a public fall out shelter to be
used to help the those who were hurt, sick or couldn't walk.  It looks
like they used it during some drills at that time from the wear it has. It
is missing one small strap that you would fasten when it is folded up.
Likely during a drill someone slipped and tore it. Still a great old piece
from the cold war and it is the same style stretcher used by the
military during WW 2 and other wars. An interesting piece of our
history to be sure.
